please tell me where i went wrong in my previous post.
Just one question: i'm going to buy a ps2. Is it messiah the best chip on the market on your opinion. Someone wants to give me a chip called ps2 star, doesn't it have toc limit? And what others limits? Thanks

If you're wondering why no one answers is because someone new posts the same old thing over and over..It's like Deja'Vu everyday here..Or like Bill Murray's Ground hog's Day..
Anway Try reasearching by looking at earlier threads on this forum..It clearly states that Messiah is a winner..Only catch is that if you got NTSC US then it only works for certain Versions.
The New chip called Magic2 is like messiah with 100% non swap and it's fully 100% compatible with every machine up to date..
As for Starchip, not sure since no words on the manufactorer but TOC issue I'm sure it occurs..Someone can correct me If I'm wrong..Magic2 is the answer to your problem..No hassle's just worry Free..

Starchip, like NEO2.2 is now outdated and no good for v5 models onwards.

Are you sure about that Charlie? I have spoken with an old friend of mine "CDR-MAN" you may know him, and I could have sworn that he has installed a neo2.2 in at least a v5. And if so then it would surely work on a v6. Im pretty sure it doesnt work on a v7 though.

Correct me if Im wrong.

Tyler, they work in v5.x but with restricted functionality because pins 3,4 & 5 are missing. The workarounds are convoluted and Dave Mirra method is now defeated in latest AR2/GS2.

SO these chips are being squeezed out. My main issue here is that the High TOC method gets progressively more difficult as games get larger!

Well I know you know it is possible to make games smaller and to even put them on multiple discs. So my philosophy is "there is always a way".

if your going to get a ps2 get it modded with messiah it is the best chip out. so you wont have to patch games and worry about toc limts. it direct boots all games

Yeah - if you want to spend the rest of your life ripping! No thanks. DVD-R does for me there.

Ill just consider it a learning experiance.
