I was thinking about buying a Magic 2 chip and was wondering how long before a chip in general becomes obsolete?

A no swap chip that has no macrovision defeat or DVD region free becomes obsolete when one that has these functions appears.

If these don't matter, then a no swap chip doesn't become obsolete.

That said, Messiah has been sidelined by Magic 2's greater PS2 coverage.

That is until the long awaited Messiah Full comes out. If it at all.
