Question on Burning Backups

I have a Lite-on 40x12x48 CD Burner and I tried to burn copies of Tekken 4 and Tekken Tag but they don't seem to work. I'm using CD-RW discs and CDRWin version 5.0.2. My Jap Playstation 2 version SPCH 1500 doesn't seem to read the CDs. What seems to be the problem here? I totaly clueless here.

Stop using the Rewritable discs. Use regular CD-R no W. PS2 cannot read cd-rw's.

I almost forgot that version of CDRWin sucks.

Ok, thanks guys. I'm a complete newbie in this. By the way how do you play PAL movie DVDs on your NTSC PS2? Do you have to get moded again or is there a boot disc?

TylerDurden 02-08-2002 17:36

Wow thats a good question. My guess would be to rip the dvd and reencode it into NTSC format.

Im not sure there is a boot disc of sorts or a chip.

Ill keep my eyes open for an answer to this.

Goldenhawk technologies did not release cdrwin 5, This is a pirate software that is illegally using goldenhawks name. Try using clone cd or a registered version of cdrwin along with decent cd-r media. Hopefully it will produce a better result.

Yes I use CDRWin v3.9A. I patched mine with a .dat file that I just happened to have and now I recieve full benifits of CDRWin Full. ;) :p

Yes there is a boot disc but just for dvd movies. The one i know and my friend uses without a modchip is REGION-X which loads up a screen letting u change the regions. You can choose inbetween 6 different regions. So you play station 2 becomes region free. You will still need an RGB scart to view the movies in color otherwise your eyes will pop out watching the movies GREEN..(also you TV has to support and PAL & NTSC system) The other solution witch i use is modchip and AR2 v2 witch also lets u change the regions!! But REGION-X excists 100% for real.
Try play.com

NightStalker try this link http://www.disc4you.de/produkte/cdrwin/download.html
Its where I got the CDRWin version 5 (its a German website with some english text).
Anyway I will try Clone CD, but how do u make backup copies using Clone CD, i.e. do u choose data, audio+mixed media, or game cd to copy the image file to your harddrive? Is there any website which has a dummies guide for burning PS2 backups using Clone CD?
