It shouldn't really matter, as long as it works. If you have trouble getting the backup to work either way, then you have a problem.

Hi m8ty
Even though the clone website says it supports your cdr/rw what it means is it is for writing of discs and not reading as such.
The problem with some cdr/rw is that the reader will not read sub-channel data/audio from the tracks (which is a feature of psx protection).
I presume that your reader in your computer is a dvd and just a guess, it proberly is a Toshiba or a lite-on which are capable of this sub-channel data/audio feature.
Hope this casts some light on your problem, Like the man said before "Don't fix what ain't broke" and continue reading with your computer reader and writing with your re-writer.
Works for me

Thanks for the info mate, but it says it will read subchannel in clone cd, also it writes an image with gear pro burnig software.

You might need to upgrade your burner to its latest firmware version. Check out your manufacturers website for details.

But a word of warning. If you're unclear on how to uprgrade, its best to leave it alone. If you do it wrong, it could damage your burner.

Stick with your current set-up if upgrading is not an option.
