i just got me a pioneer 104 and i was reading charlies tutorials for burning with nero but at the start he says to make an image to the hard drive ....do i have to or can i copy on the fly

You can but I don't recommend it..Nor does Charlie..Making image first is always reliable compare to CD to CD on the fly..
