Silly question re WCIII No-CD Install
 

The instructions for the install of the No-CD install for WCIII are quite simple. However, I can't seem to get my mind around them.

Could someone explain to me just how I replace the original war3.exe with the original? I'm just about there, but don't see how I can replace one with the other. Same with extracting War3.org dummy exe to the directory. I've downloaded the executable Archives and extracted the folder, but how do I begin replacing?

I know I sound like a total computer newbie, but I simply haven't ever used cheats or no-cd executables before.

Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you all!

For any No CD to work, you gotta make sure you are using the correct version, and all the game files are available without CD, which meant all available on HD.

For WarCraft III: Reign of Chaos, all game files are already available on HD, so you just need to make sure they, I meant your game version and No CD version, are the same. Newest version should be 1.01b.

First step, make sure you can connect and play on battle net with CD. This will make sure your game version are up-to-date, version 1.01b.

Second step, download the gimpsRus 1.01b virtual crack, using WinRAR 3.00, extract war3.exe and war3.org to your game folder, overwrite existing war3.exe (war3.org is exactly the same as your war3.exe, so no need to backup). Then you are done.

Finally, remove the game CD and start the game as usual. ;)
