Civilization III v1.29f
 

The patch to v1.29f was released yesterday. Anybody seen the crack? I heard Deviance might have released one.

1.29f is suppoosed to be good patch.
Most know bugs fixed and added SCENARIO support in editor.

Now I could finaly play (create) some scenarios for Civ3.

Yes, 1.29F does alot, though mostly to the editor. Commerical got improved, with a commeric bonus in citys/metropolis, and 125% optimal citys instead of 112.5%.(affecting corruption) The editor is quite good but you still can't do events/scripting/set diplomacy. So right now even with all the options making mods not scenarios is about how far you'll go. Till Play the World comes out with more for the editor(hopefully). Tech has been made more useful in this also, with default tech costs rising, and AI valueing tech more, so that you shouldn't be going into modern ages that early anymore. And yeah, I like Civ3 just a bit, follow it alot on a Civ3 fan site. Glad to hear no-cd exe is coming to GCW though, Civ3 is probably the only game i've got where I woulda worn out the cd by now with how much i've played it.

Is GCW updated on daily basis or every 4, 5 days?

1.29f no-cd fix is posted at GCW!

I downloaded it twice, and both times it gived some CRC errors.
(using winrar or winace)

Tried European mirror #1 and #2

Unpack it with WinRar 3! Earlier versions of WinRar sometimes give CRC errors....

I got it and it works ok!

P22, try another mirror. I grabbed the patch from an American mirror successfully.

CGI errors - can't download
 

on North American mirrors #1 and 4 and Europe #1 I get CGI errors, so I can't even download the file

Never mind, I got the file from a friend and can confirm that WinRAR 3 is needed to unpack it. Get it here http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar300.exe , it's shareware.

Yes, RAR v3.0 has done the trick.

I suppose it couldn't be unpacked with my old RAR v2.01.
And also, it looks like WinAce v2.11 has some bugs considering RAR 3.0 format.


Now, it all works perfectly.

Civ 1.29f archive is corrupt
 

I have not been able to download the Civ3 1.29f no cd patch from any mirror and have it unpack correctly.

I have installed WinRAR 3.00 but it STILL tells me that the archive is corrupt.

The archive I keep getting is 670,053 bytes long and has an MD5 sum of:

Anyone got any links for the file that isn't in this stupid RAR type?? Why not a zip file? at least they work.
