Princo DVD-R any good???

Anyone used these discs before? Are they good, reliable???

Well I never used their DVDR yet, but their regulaer CDR were the best and lowest media I ever used. They were the only CDR that worked on all my DVD players from the oldest to the newest, there is non so far I used that was able to do that. I have had "ZERO" coaster so far ! I guess that says something

Yes, Princo seems to be highly rated when it comes to compatibility. They're also fairly cheap.

I've tried quite a few different DVD-r princo seem to be the worst. They take ages to be recognised in the pc dvd-rom, and seem to have low compatibility with standard dvd players.

I use traxdata DVD-r these are grabbed instantly by both my lite-on dvd-rom and pioneer dvd writer.

My dvd player also likes these and TDK DVD-r.

The princo brands I have tried are, Princo, Datasafe (these seem to be the absolute worst) & bulpaq.

You get what you pay for it seems, pay a little more than the cheapest and you get better quality.

On the other hand I have had 100% success with princo made CDR, all except datasafe, which are buggers for not reading fast.

Refering to the post by captin, I have never EVER had a problem with DataSafe Media. They are recognised instantly by my Plextor PlexWriter W12/10/32A (running OPC) and my LG DVD-ROM 8160B. I love them. Never had a coaster or a bad burn. Blue at the bottom and perfect results every time! :D
P.S.: My PS2 reads them perfectly too!

Every laser is different for PS2..Some machines read Generics really well while other machines only likes name brands..
It all varies..I recommend TDK,Verbatim,Imation or Sony..Apple is decent..But overall get Name Brands since the Generics tends to work the laser on the PS2 harder than name brands..Which means longer life spend on the PS2...
