PS2 emulation?
 

First, is there a working emulator for PS2 for the PC? I have found 2, one by MicahSoft and one from EKaf.

When I create a cd from the back up image (bin and cue) of the game, I see several file types: .IRX, .IMG, .15, and .CNF

One of the emulators (EKaf) instructs me to point to the .PS2 file on my CD. The other emulator auto detects the CD, but gives me an error reading CD.

So the questions are:

Do I need to burn my backup to a DVD? or is CDR sufficient?
From the description, is my backup image ok, or do I need to create a new image from the original.

As of now, there is NO emulator that works..... Someone may be working on one.... :cool:

There are no PS2 emulators at present that can play commercial games. As BG and Jim have said, there wont be one for a while yet.

Correct, there is no EMU that can play Commercial games, but there is one out that can load the demo, mind you, you don't get great graphics or anything, basically just crap on your screen...lol..but they are working on one, they say atleast a year or 2 for a full working one that can play commercial games.
Not sure if i can post the link to the page or not that shows info on the EMU. Plz let me know if i can and I will post it for your info

Yes yes yes .. I remember BLEEM wich everyone was excited at first but we found out at the end that it was full of crap. 2 out of 10 games worked with lots lots of problems and the team was full of promises but at the end they just disapeared.. Everybodys dream at the time was to be able to play GRAND TOURISMO at the PC but ........ Anyway you cant compare pc super graphics with playstations bs graphics...

these emulators will always be crap, the playstation developers probably wouldn;t be able to come up with a good emulatoir even if their lives depended on it. It's a bit like saying a non-english spekaing person will be able to teach a class of english students the language of english.

Also by the way ekaf is a waste of time, if you had any brains at all you'd know that ekaf is the word 'fake' spelt backwords.
