Patches
Do I need a patch for : Maximo Ghost to glory, and Star Wars Strafighter? How can I know whether or not I need a patch for these two games to work? Also, what's a PAL/NTSC Selector and NTSC/Color Fix? Finally, one last thing, Can I use an EA Swap Fix for PAL Europe when I live in North America?

PROBLEM>......I burn it without a patch and when i load, the screen goes black!!! Why? And the patches in megagames.com for StarWars Starfighter is NTSC/Color Fix(PAL) and EA Swap Fix(PAL). I need a NTSC patch because I live in North America and a EA Fix not the ones I mentioned above, right???

The US version of these games do not need patching. A PAL/NTSC selector is a patch used to change the region code from PAL to ntsc and vise versa. If you live in North America and have a NTSC PS2 then (depending on your chip) you must patch any import (PAL) game for it to play correctly.

I did without a patch and it still did not work. Did anyone try to burn these two games (Crash Bandicoot and Starfighter)with no problems. I burned them with Nero using these features in Read Option ticked:
Read media catalog number and ISRC. Continue copying. Data mode 1 - Force raw reading - Write uncorrected. Data mode 2 - Force raw reading - Write uncorrected. Read audio with subchannel. Ignore read errors. Is anything wrong here? If yes, please specify! |
I was wondering because When I burned Swing Away Golf, IT WORKED! However when I burned StarWars Starfighter and crash Bandicoot, IT DID NOT WORK! I used the same properties for all three games with Nero. Can someone please help! It's so frustrating. If I do not need a patch then what do nedd to do?
Peace |
You should always abort on read errors. Try using clone cd or cdrwin. Nero isnt a bad program but clone cd with a 100% compatable burner cannot be beat.
