CDRwin error: Please help.

Hi everyone! I've been trying to burn Vampire Nights with the no-mod patch and keep getting this error message, "File length is not a multiple of the CDROM sector size." I'm using the demo version of CDRWIN 3.9a-e and thought that I had followed all the instructions on the patch carefully. And, I have search all over for help with this error message, but no one seems to be able to help me with this. I would appreciate any inputs. Take care.

Isn't Vampire Nights a DVD based game?

Not riopped right.

Your rip is a different size then the one that the patch was written for. Pretty tricky endeavor. I do alot of DVD to VCD/SVCD/DIVx encoding. There are too many variables that go into determining the output's file size and quality. Even if you use the EXACT same settings, you may get different results because of different version numbers of the utilities, different firmwares on the drives, diferent ASPI drivers,.....the list goes on and on.

If you don't have a mod chip solution--GET ONE!! I hate to be a prick about it, but you are on your way to a designer set of drink coasters if you continue down this path. If you have a mod chip installed--even the cheap ones--you most likely won't have to worry about the no mod patch. Even so, the DVD check subroutines.....correcting the TOC....cutting the DVD content, then stitching in the rips....WHAT A FREAKING NIGHTMARE!!! Buy the DVD's from a rental store's previously viewed bin. If you consider the cost of the energy to keep your PC running for 3 days, all the trashed CDR media....not to mention the overall headaches and the cost of Tylenol--you'll come out cheaper in the end (or at least break even!).

Good Luck!

Hey! Thanks. That's the best, and most honest, answer I have gotten. Take care.

That proves you haven't searched the forum! My message about ripping being a road to nowhere is plastered all over the place.

Anyway, if you can get a Messiah chip and a Pioneer A04 DVD-R burner, do so and, like many of us, you'll never look back.

Wrong! Read yours...didn't help me with this situation. But I do appreciate your reply, though.
