Whats up with the laser??
 

Hello,
Ok, my games were taking forever to boot up (except psone cd-based games) and dvd movies hardly worked. So, being the idiot that I am, I thought the laser was dirty or something. So I decided to clean it with this lens cleaning substance (on q-tip). But after that my PS2 couldnt read anything. What should I do? Is there anyway I could clean the lens or is it scratched?

Btw, I noticed a circular switch type thing behind the laser, what is that?

No fluid should be used when cleaning the lens as it leaves a film. The q-tip won't have scratched the lens. A lens cleaning disk (with brushes) is what's required. Run that a few times and it should remove the film or try a dry q-tip first.
