dreamcast vcds

Hi everyone,
i recently purchased a dreamcast for my son with a number of games.Someone told me they thought dreamcasts can play vcds.
Is this correct ?
If so can someone please give me some info on how to do this.My attempts have so far failed miserably.

thanks

I have some video on DC.
There are some players available here :

I guess they have tutorials with the archive...

re vcds on dreamcast

Thanks megalexx, downloaded the "gypplay" utility, followed the instructions to burn to disk along with the video. On loading the utility runs fine, dead easy to use but all the video files i have tried so far have yielded the error message,"incorrect file ortoo many errors on disc?"
The videos ive burned have all been in dat format or avi format which the utility supports.

Any other ideas?
Vdcs i tried to burn were Jimmy Neutron,Cinderella2 and Peterpan?

thanks again:(

I guess your video aren't coded the right way.
Gypplay should tell you which format you need to use.

I found that in readme.txt :
.mpg (MPEG-1 only)
.mpeg (MPEG-1 only)
.dat (MPEG-1 only)
.avi (no odd codecs!)
.m1v (MPEG-1 video, no audio)
.asf (no odd codecs! MPEG-4/DivX is NOT supported!)
.sfd (v1.01 SFD format works, but no audio. Newer SFDs not supported.)

try to go to the site "vcdhelp.com" they have several tutorials on how to make proper vcd's. and try using nero to burn off the vcd. dccopyworld.com should have several tutorials as well.

re dreamcast vcds

Thanks everyone for offering the assistance in trying to get the dreamcast to play vcds.Having looked at the vcds i have, they are avi or dat files which gypplay supports but they are mpeg2coded and thats presumably why they will not play.

Great site at vcd help.com

thanks again
