Can't read PS2 CD
 

I am having a problem reading the original PS2 CD's in either of my drives. I have a Yamaha 4416E Writer and a Creative Labs 4831E reader. I have tried several different games, but when I try to look at the contents it shows nothing. I tried the cd's in my neighbours drive and he can see the contents. I have upgraded the firmware of the writer, Atapi drivers, Motherboard IDE drivers but still no success. Please help.

are u sure they r not dvd games ?
and your mates drive is a dvd/cd rom?

I'm with Dusty on this one. If the back of the CD is blue - you should be able to read it on your PC. If it is gold on has the PS logo on the reflective medium - it is a DVD and you cant read that on your CD Drives. You friend probably has a DVD Rom drive. Swap it with him if you want to read DVDs.

PS - Hello Dusty2Dust, your advise is a good as ever.

Also check on the back of the original game case. It will say either Compact Disc or DVD-Rom..... It is also printed on the original game.....
