Jap PS2 SCH 10000
 

Help just bought Japanese PS" model SCH 10000, it has only a utility disk but cant understand all in Japanese, picture on TV screen only black & white, will it be colour if I use scart?

Also can i get this model chipped, and will it then play English games?

Help please have never had a PS2 before, anxious to get playing.:

I got the same ps2. It can be chipped but only by origa 1.25 jap or
the nova chip. Both work perfect together with the ar 2 .

As per Sjaak's answer, with the Origachip it will play PAL games. originals, no swap; backups swap with AR2 or DVD Region X (preferred). You can use the PAL versions of these boot disks.
