Problems converting PAL to NTSC
Just a while back I ordered the PS-X-Change v2 so that I could play imported games. I have several PAL mode games such as Breath of Fire 4. I have made several attempts to patch these games so that they will appear in color instead of black and white. I have tried the ppf patchers, the PAL4U program, and several others. However, none of them work. I have been using EPSXE to check and see if the games are changing format. I even burned one and tried it with the PS-X-Change to see if it was ok. However, nothing I try seems to work. Could someone please help me? Is there an easy way to patch a game or make my own patch so that it will change from PAL to NTSC? By the way I have been using CDRWin to make the disk images before passing, and I have been using RAW data mode. Is there any other way to get around this black and white problem without patching or buying PAL mode everything? Thanks.

Have a look at the megagames site for correct patching tutorial
http://www.megagames.com/psx/psx_patches.shtml There is also a tutorial for creating your own ntsc-pal patches http://www.megagames.com/psx/idiots_...2p/idiot.shtml Hope that this is of some help, post back to let us know how you got on. |
Didn't Work
I tried going through all the steps to make my own patch since I didn't see one in the megagames data base. It did not work on the particular game that I tried. Thanks for the help though. I may try some of the other PAL mode games that I have and see if I can get any of them to work. Thanks again.

there are lots of other sites with patches, I will post some links later tonight, or if others want to post their links it would be helpful.

Thanks. That would be a great help being that the only to patch sites I've come across so far are megagames and ngemu. By the way, after I patch a game from PAL to NTSC, should EPSXE detect it as NTSC instead of PAL? Thanks again.

Got it Working
Thanks for all the help. I got it working. I made a dumb mistake. I forgot to edit my cue sheets so they would burn the patched file instead of the orignal. It made me say "doh". Anyway thanks for all the help.
