well,i don't know many things about this....i have heard that xp are not so good for copying and i think it has something to do with the aspi...well,as for win98 and me i don't know...i am using win98 and i don't want to change them,i think it's the best version of windws ever released,if i ever change them it would be only for unix......i think that win98 is the best os for burning thisngs...now,it's your choise.....

any of those is a good choice, so long as you understand the burning defaults with XP, and get rid of them :D. personally, ME = biggest pile of shit that i ever had installed (2 days). xp pro is fine, however

xp sometimes makes trouble with burned cds because they can not be read by win9x.

you need a patch from windowsupdate (for xp :) )

Copying with XP

How do you disable the defaults in the copying software of WinXP?

podunkviller 04-07-2002 17:58

i right clicked the drive in my computer, properties > and disabled recording to this drive using XP. is that what you meant?

XP Copying...

After I change the burning properties, then go ahead and re-install Nero and CloneCD. Then business as usual? Thanks for the help. Just when I got Win 3.11 figured out, Win 95 came out... Now I am pretty good with those platforms and XP come out. Just the way life goes... Anyone any good with networking with XP to ME? email me please. [email protected].

I know NOTHING about Xp, but Win2000Prof networked automatically with Me without a hitch. After a minimal of messing with settings I even got internet sharing between my desktop(2000) and my laptop (Me). I do plan on installing XP to play aropund with on my laptop later today. WISH ME LUCK!!!:D

XP

I can see the other machines, I just can not get in to them from one machine to the other machine. And now from one ME to the other ME station, I can not see them. HHmmm.... It was working fine before I installed XP home.
:p

you must have a separate user account logged into both computers in order to have a network ;), just a newbie hint.

Are you sure? Because I currently have the same user logged onto 2 different computers who are also sharing the same internet account right this minute. Of course they can see each other on the network too. :D

separate as in something signed in ;)

bad choice of words. i meant that you had to have someone signed in on each, rather than signing in on one, and trying to view the others ;)
