unknown protection
 

Hi guys,
I tried CloneyXXL (latest version) with "Port Royale"
by ascaron - but it couldn't detect any protection.
But there obviously *is* one.
(a 1:1 copy with clonecd4 doesn't work)

By starting the game a tiny window pops up
and says something like: "verifying original cd"

Does someone know what kind of protection this is?

I don't know it exactly, but I have read that is has a new version of vob Protect CD. I don't know, if that is true, cos I don't have the game myself.

No way this time....
 

Right now, there is no way - that's why, there is no crack even available this time. (Guess, some guys r working hard with it)

At all some good signs for a new protection sheme (like a new product from VOB maybe).

There is only one obviosly way, to threat the protection, by copying the demo from the CD to HD during CD-checking. It seems, that the CD is to busy then, to work correctly with the protected exe and sometimes the game starts with a usual (cloned) CD.

Just copy a big file from youg (1:1copied) gamedisc to your hd while the file copies - start the game .... have fun playing ..
(on some cd roms u have to ry few times but it almost always works - stupid copy protection - same with war 3 lol)

War3 = warcraft 3? Didn't it have Securom?

not to complain but the first and asking question was "18-06-2002 19:20" and the revealing thing seams to happen on 18-12-2003, isn't that funny? :D

yea funny indeed i had a lazy afternoon and i thought i tell sb the copy trick course it seemed nobody tried jet it works 4 damn many games (with some cdrom i figured) it was the only way 4 me to play port royal since my old misumi 32x cdrom diddnt recognize ANY protectet ORGINAL funny eh? it did read cdrs though lol now thats not an isue any more got a new drive - so reply was just 4 fun
