Oh dammit, AR2 not booting anymore
I have for 1,5 years a PAL ps2 with Neo2 modchip using Action replay2 to boot my games, all te sudden my ps2 doesn't recognize the AR2 cd anymore....it keeps saying insert a ps2 disc.....when i take a look at the Ar2 cd back, it's scratched{because of the much swapping with cds} how can i re-burn this ar2 cd on a brandnew cd? i use nero for burning..i hope the second ar2 disc will work again or else i'm fucked. the ar2 2.0 is not to be found anymore. though, it could be the neo2 chip itself as well of course...cause i just inserted the ar2 cd in my pc..it shows all the data....maybe the chip is fucked.
I'm planning on getting a Messiah built in by someone..though the thing is..it's very expensive I tested it out some more, the damn thing just doesn't regognize the ar2 cd anymore....i heard that the Dvd regionx will work as a boot disc though...or else i'm forced to buy a messiah for someone to build it in... Cd2 of the Action replay2 doesn't boot either...but original games boot without any problem..but the 2 AR2 cd's aren't broken cause i see the data and shit on my pc when inserted in the cdrom playa. conclusion, the Action replay2 cartridge broken? or is it the chip? |
Hmm, its probally the disc, clean it with a cd cleaner, I can also read games that wont play on my ps2 on my pc. The reason for that could be is that the ps2 laser is dusty or needs to be replaced. You can use a cd lens cleaner on the ps2 but one of those air dust cans for the pc would work. i hardly doubt its the modchip though. If any of this information is wrong im sorry, but somebody like charlie should be here soon to fill you in. Hope i helped a little.

Well i cleaned the cd with cleaning stuff, my bro recommended me that..didn't help....do you mean i need to clean the laser in the ps2 itself too? can't do...i didn't built the chip in myself..someone else dit that for me.....so i guess i'll be better of buying that dvd region X tomorrow to boot up my games.

I think I replied to you elsewhere and DVD Region X is a good approach.
Bear in mind though that your PS2 is old! |
