Ripping DC ISOS

I have over 20 Dreamcast games and was wondering if it is possible to rip them to a PC as ISO's.
Also - I have a few games on CD-R's and was wondering if it is possible to backup these using CloneCD by doing a straight copy??
Thanks
Blade

To copy your backups, use DiscJuggler.

To copy your orignal games, you'll have to rip them using a PC / DC cablre, them hack your bin files, and finally burn it the good way. It's a long and hard work !!!

Will clone cd do the trick!!!

Megalexxx 13-06-2002 07:13

No idea.
I'm not sure CloneCD manages multi sessions well.
If you've got non selfboot games, you can copy them using whatever you want (Nero, DiscJuggler, CloneCD, EasyCDCreator, ...). If they're selfboot, you surely can use DiscJuggler. I think the latest version of Nero can do it also. Maybe CloneCD too.
Anyway, try and you'll see !

Do you care about wasting 1 CD ?!?

If you're asking will CloneCD copy original Dreamcast GDROM discs, the answer is a resounding NO!. There is no software program known to man that will allow a standard CD-R or CDRW drive copy a Dreamcast GDROM because the discs are different formats and capacities and the only part of the GDROM you can see on a standard CDROM drive is the boot session.

If you're asking if CloneCD will copy **BACKUP** discs that have already been ripped and burned (and are known to work already), I don't know but knowing that CloneCD is supposed to do exact copies of CDROM discs, it probably will work. Don't hold me to that though...

oh ok - i have ripped my copys of soul calibur and headhunter!!!
They are in ISO forma - how do i now burn them to a self booting CDR???

Megalexxx 17-06-2002 11:56

I thought Head Hunter was already selfboot.
If it's the case, use DiscJuggler to make a Player to Recorder copy.

If not, either follow echelon's tutorial or make a Bin image using CDRWin and use Bin2Boot.

I know no way to make selfboot game using Clone CD.

Blade64 17-06-2002 12:43

OK so with soul calibur i need this echelon thing - where do i find this?? Sorry to sound thick but the DC really is not my thing!!!

Megalexxx 17-06-2002 14:07

Here you can find all you need :

(DC Boot Tools section)

You should read the tutorials.

Well the good news is that cloneCD copys backups perfectly (including self boot). I am having problems making a self-boot soul calibur though.

Megalexxx 18-06-2002 03:05

If my memory is good, Soul Calibur is to large to fit on a 700 Mo CD unless you downsample something.

Wayne 18-06-2002 06:35

I've got an Self-Boot copy of Soul-Caliber (if memory serves me, it wasn't self-boot until I converted it), and it only takes up 675mb (708,249,440 bytes). If I remember correctly, I extracted the files using CDMAGE and found that the files totaled considerably less than the original image that wouldn't fit on a 700mb disc. Then when I burned it using Echelon's self-boot tutorial, it worked perfectly.

I know there are many releases of this game.
Maybe mine was bigger than yours : I've got the full intro...
