chai 06-06-2002 18:59

are you sure you have the right settings? Also the is your burner compatible with clone cd

OURKID 07-06-2002 22:16

Hi m8ty
Final Fantasy IX is mod-chip protected so you will have to use cdrwin to image it to your hard drive and then patch the image with ppf-patch-o-matic.
There all available on megagames psx utilities along with a good tutorial.

hi chai
can you help mi?
my burner is a plexwriter 8/4/32a
what is the correct setting??

buzzon 09-06-2002 13:34

use these clonecd settings

create a cd image using clone cd with these settings.

set read speed to 1 0r 2x
select read subchanel data from data tracks
select read subchanel data from audio tracks
select abort on read errors
every thing else should be grayed out

to burn image to cd

set write speed 1 or 2x
select RAW DAO
select dont repair subchannel data
unselect simulate writing (if available)
select burn proof/just link (if available)
unselect perform laser power calibration(if available)
unselect wait until buffers are full (if available)
select always close last session

happy playing

What Level Stealth Chip do you got? Right now there is Stealth Elite which is Level 5 and the final version..You might have gotten Ver.1-3 because I'm sure of that Ver.4 and "Elite" Level 5 bypassess the protection..

Also Patching will help as indicated earlier given that you got a earlier version of Stealth chip..

stupidass 10-06-2002 03:03

....@ OURKID: no need for cdrwin just to patch. Please use clone (if comp) and ppf o matic, in ppf when to patch change file form to "all files" patch and presto a patched clone copy!.....yours humblest.....

A03 10-06-2002 07:27

PPF o matic doesn't support Clone CD, that's why you need Goldenhawk CDR win..Latest version supports Gi files made from Prassi for A03 or A04 for the Future games that might be Anti Mod Protected(DVD-rom games)..

sm83 10-06-2002 07:52

Actually you can patch a CloneCD image. you can try this:

1. Read the original to hard disk in the normal CloneCD manner
2. Rename the IMG file to BIN and apply the patch in the normal way
3. Rename the BIN file back to IMG
4. Burne the IMG to CD-R with CloneCD

I can't guarantee anything but its worth a try and let me know the outcome. Happy playing

A03 10-06-2002 14:31

Yeah, like you said it's not guranteed to work..Why go through the hassle if it's not going to work?

chai 10-06-2002 16:02

when i burnt FFIX i didn't need to patch it or anything, i just copied with the right settings straight off and the whole game worked fine

A03 10-06-2002 16:27

Dude, why don't you read the whole post? Before responding..
You probably got the US version, this thread is based on one of European Version..Myself did not need a patch either because I got the US Original version as well..But apparently European versions are protected..Either that or you got a European version but you got a Stealth modded PS which by passes the protection..

A03 10-06-2002 16:29

In any case it seems like Stealth Chip is the only solution at the time..My opinion of course! Unless the Burning software is acting up..

stupidass 11-06-2002 03:36

@ AO3 , all my respect.Dunn several games with anti-modchip protection with Clone cd (3 to 4) and ppf-omatic as described , and worked like a charm. Please do not read as offence.....
yours humblest............
