copy protection or hardware problem?

Hallo

I'm a newb here

Maybe a stupid question, but I don't no if the problems i'm having are because of copy protection or hardware problems.

When I,m trying to copy games like max payne, F1 2001, F1 racing championship, comanche 4 using the latest clone cd and cloney xxl or nero 5.5 the burning proces slows down extremely.
not even 1x so it wil take houres to burn.

I'm Having a lite-on 24-10-2b writer, asus 50x cd rom
amd 1600xp system

It doesn't matter if I:

Use the asus or lite on as reader
make an image or burn on the fly
enable or disable dma
use different media

can someone help me please?

You could try Daemon Tools' Fast Dump.

Search Google for Daemon Tools

working well

Wow it's working well

After waiting a while ( first 3%) the reading speeds up.
(Making an image with cloneyxxl and clone cd)
the back up is working well

thank you.

Only a audio cd fails to work. ( TMF)

both my writer as the asus cd rom fail to recognize the cd.

I don't think it's the sony protection because there is no""ring"
on the cd.

How could there be a software crack to it if the hardware doesn.t recognze a cd?

Did you scan the audio cd with Clony XXL

menno 07-06-2002 03:21

scanning with cloney won't work.

the cd rom / writer doesn't recognize the cd, so cloney tells me there is no cd inserted.

It is then some sort of audio protection - maybe Key2audio, cactus data shield etc.

Here's a good article on audio protections and how to bypass them

yuipt, that sounds like Key2audio
