Newbie needs help
 

I would like to know how to backup/burn playstation 2 games. Would i need a dvd burner or is my cdr sufficient? Also what mod chip will work for me? There seems to be lots of difffrent mod chips out. Any help is appreciated.

A cd burner is only sufficient if it is a cd based game(blue/purple backs). To do those all you need is cd clone, or some other 1:1 copying program. Just make a straight copy, thats how i do it and i've had no problems. For DVD based games you need a dvd burner. The people around here seem to encourage the Pioneer A03 or A04. I don't personally have a modchip, i use a gameshark and it works fine, but I'd say go Messiah modchip. If you're going modchip thats really the only way to go.

Tnx for the help. I have cd clone so ill use that. Im surprised its so easy to copy. Dc copying was a major pain in the arse.
