I'll just add my msg to the load of 8160b msgs!
I have one, but i can't get it to over burn! Nero and Easy CD Creator didn't recognize it until i found a patch.
Then Feurio, and CDRWIN don't recognize it as a burner. whats going on?
I'm pretty sure it can overburn, the older model can!
can somebody help me out here?

No idea how to fiy your problem with the Easy CD-Creator, cause I don´t use this proggy. Have you tried the "Einstellungen"-Menu in Nero to configure the overburn-settings?! Works fine, but tried it only to overburn up 80:45 minutes.
Feurio und CDRWin needs database-updates to recognize the LG as a burner, i think. My drive has been manufactured in late september. I think, it´s just too new for these proggies.
