does NEO2.2 need a capacitor?
 

Hi all,

just a quick question, Does the neo2.2 NEED a capacitor?
I heard it was only the neo2 that needed it.

and i know, i should get a messiah, but its a little out of my price bracket right now, and a PIC 12C509 is only $5

$5 is all it takes to fry your laser.

The capacitor puts off the day by some considerable amount.

I have friends who have used the neo2.2 for ages now and have had no problems, and besides, if my laser did pack it in, AUD$60 will get me a new one.

even with the new laser and the neo2.2, i end up saving $135 from the price of the messiah.

Don't get me wrong, i really really want a Messiah, but i just can't afford it. When the prices drop, then i'll get one!

get the capacitor anyways. it's a 10 cent part. without the cap, the laser can get fried in less than 2 weeks.

and the messiah is already down to 70-100 USD.
