XBox has been HACKED!
 

As it seems the XBox has been hacked and currently 22 Games have been released by group called Project X!

For now the CD & DVD "backups" will not work on a normal XBox, they only work on the Developer XBox

I have tried a ntsc copy of NASCAR 2002 the only error that i got is that the XBOX found the wrong region code!!!!!!!!!
I think that if there's a ntsc/pal patch or pal/ntsc that the game works without a mod chip!!i have a PAL XBOX!! The same thing as the sega dreamcast must be possible !!i'll hope :D

on a private pubstro !!there are a lot of games overthere hihi !!

the question is: why would these people bother getting a develoment box just to hack the games (that is a dev box in the movie isn't it?)? and if it isn't a dev box, how the hell did they get the games to run?
now, it would be nice to know where exactly to get one of these copies...
oh and, would it use dvd+rw or -rw?

so far from what i have read the retail Xbox can only read DVD-RW's and CD-RW's. also some types of dvd-r disc's but not sure.

Busy weekend huh ? We had an amazing response to the NEO-X at Bowlers on Saturday. Thanks to John at Pirahna for loaning half of his stall

OK we're gonna update you on a few things. NEO-X all along has been able to play these backups released by Project-X. We just couldn't tell anyone until the releases went public. So to confirm yes they all play on a retail XBOX unit. It can boot all unsigned code and modified XBE's. We've used CDR / CDRW / DVDR / DVDRW, and you will also see DiVX, MP3, VCD Players soon as well as internet browsers, Linux tools and much much more. It's going to be an exciting year for all XBOX fans.

Now here's the bad news. Our situation has still not changed with regards to selling a full mod or even just the import only mod to the public, it just isn't worth the legal hassle. However i'm sure you'll see mods popping up from other companies who operate underground - the risk is just too high for us to pursue. It's been a lot of fun proving that it can be done though
