Which Burner???

Either a Plextor or TDK 24x10x40....Iwant to use Clone CD....Plextor comes with WinCD and is more expensive. TDK is cheaper and has Nero 5.5....I am tempted to go for TDK....can anyone advice me either way or offer a better choice. Would appreciate any advice.

Ive just bought the plex and it comes with nero now
they have scrapped win on cd.

also plex utilities (Which I never install as it conflicts with clone)
also a packet writing prog.

The plex is more expensive but mu old 8 speed was still going from the day they released it, and ive never had any probs..
There are others but I personally highly recomend the plex

Any CD Burner in the CloneCD list that supports RAW+96 is fully capable. E.g: Yamaha 2100/2200 to mention ontwo of many.

Thanks for all your replys. I think a Plex would be nice so i will start saving cause it is a bit more expensive than most but comes with 2 year warranty plus Nero 5.5....just need to pass on my HP9110i now

I am considering the Liteon 24102b with firmware 5s07. Rumor has it that these drives are good for use with CloneCD and much cheaper than Plex24X. More info can be found at the CloneClinic site: http://www.welcome.to/cloneclinic

I´ve got the LiteOn 241002B(I think thats the numbers), and it is awesome! I´ve been able to copy everything with it. Only thing is, i had to let my old plextor 8432 (not burning anymore, died) be left in the case. This is because it reads discs with errors(non-safedisc errors) a whole lot better. Where the Liteon fails, the Plexie prevails...

And also there is the question of economy, as the LiteOn IS cheaper.
It´s all up to you, but if you aint got a good reader I suggest you go for the plextor.

Both are too costly!
Why not get the acer 20X10X40?
very cheap when compared to overpriced plextor and ugly tdk burners
Just make sure you get correct emf encoding or you will be upset later.

How do you know that the acer will come with emf encoding or not.

I am maybe going to get the acer 1610A. As far as i know it has emf encoding and can do SD2. Tell me if i am not correct.

woodmaster 23-10-2001 18:30

The acer 2010A and the 1610A are not 100%compatable with clone cd. If i were you there is no way i would waste my money on any burner that wasnt 100% compatable with cdrwin and clone cd.
