dungeon siege is pissing me off, please help
 

ok i'm trying to get a working copy of dungeon siege on the go, but its not happening. CD 2 seems to like generating random bad sectors when i burn it, it either destroys the terrain file or the voices file. Just for the record i have a working version copied but it has no music or voices due to a corrupt voice installation. I have tried writing disc 2 a few times now and it just changes the error each time.

If anyone has copied this game successfully, i need to know exactly how u did it.

PLease don't give me your "ideas", i really do need a bonafide way of getting this to copy.

ASAP.
Any real help would be amazingly appreciated.

Well, probably means that nobody has a clue (including me). Wait for some experienced user like packer or ghosthacker to come around. Look again tomorrow.

Clony XXL tells me there is Safedisk Alt on CD1 and no protection on CD2

I suggest you download Clony XXL which will give you the settings to use in Clone CD

Safedisk Old is a very easy copy protection to copy and many writers will be capable of it. Read errors are expected from sectors 800-10000, but you say it was CD2 that the errors were on (which isn't protected), so I believe that the cd is scratched, or copied from a scratched cd. You could try increasing the read retries (Nero is good for error correction - you will be able to copy this disk with Nero as it isn't protected). For the first disk use Clone CD.

Give it a go!

i have clony and its really not been that useful for me so far. It says there isn't protection on it (and the cd is in prime condition, i bought it 3 days ago), yet u remember a lovely little program called clonecddb..? That says it has an unknown safedisc on it.

I've also tried dragging the image into that beta-blocker thing but seeing as though (like clony) its all in german, i really didn't have a clue what it was doing.

I dunno what it is thats so great about clony yet, it hasn't really give me much help so far, and it was for this reason that i asked if anyone could just tell me some settings. U know, like if they've actually copied it and know how.

LIke u say, there shouldn't be any protection on it, but obviously there is otherwise i would have a working version by now.

yeh but it will work with the cds that i've copied cos my cd1's fine. Plus i will end up getting rid of it eventually from my drive so i'm gonna need a copy to reinstall, u catch my drift?
