FileForums - Newbie Question: Best Mod Chip for US V4

HI,

I'm new to all of this, and I've been hunting around the forums for information. I have a "US version 4" Playstation 2, and if I wanted to play back-ups, it sounds like these are my options:

- Must Buy a Game Shark 2.
***Buy from any local store

- Buy either an Origa or a Messiah mod chip
- Apparently the Origa works the same as the Messiah, except
it's easier to install (14 soldering connections), but requires
a boot disc for back-ups, and it plays imports. It's about $40.
***Buy from www.origachip.com ?
- The Messiah needs 44 connections, but requires no disc for all
games. Also plays imports. It's from $60-$100 US dollars.
***Buy from a trusted member of these forums

Is all this info correct?
