Play NTSC U/C on NTSC J PS2
I have a Japan PS2, with mod chip and AR2. It plays CD-R and Hong Kong Silver DVD Disc with no problem. However, my machine can't play orginal NTSC U/C DVD. What should I do to bypass the check? If I have a DVD-burner, is it possible to patch NTSC U/C games so that I can play on my machine? I am a newbie so please give me so detail info. Thank you! |
There is only one solution for the Jap PS2 to play original US imports. That is the origachip v1.25

:( So basically there is no way to pacth a NTSC U/C to NTSC J?!

Yes there is, for CD games only and it's complicated. Do you still want to know because I don't want to waste my time explaining if it's DVDs in which you are interested.
It's theoretically possible with DVDs but I don't know about the patching tools if any. |
:D Thanks for your info!
I was reading the forums more yesterday. I found that I can't play orginal but I CAN play backup. So, if I purchase a DVD-R drive and back up the orginal games, I don't have to worry about the U/C or J. Is that true? If a DVD-R can solve the problem, I think it worths the investment. Thanks for answering my question. |
er.. a decent modchip (i.e. origa) is alot cheaper than a dvd-r.
