copying Dungeon Siege and XP Pro
 

i have both of there titles and when it comes to making a first gen copy of DG it works fine but if i make a copy of a copy it errors out on about 36% of the instal.also the samething happens with XP pro even on the second Gen copy or back up. what settings are needed for these titles to work. and also what is the copy protection on theses disks. thanks for any help.

Note: This English version is the OFFICIAL release of Clony XXL 2.0.0.6 by the original author Bxxxxj. There are still some bits of it to be translated but it's looking good for me (just got it five mins ago).

yeah, that version of Clony XXL is cool.
but too much stuff in germany :((((
i really wish there was a 100% english translated one.
btw, it alwasy tells me "last time clony xxl was started it crashed, from aspi or sumshit, running safemode et etc"

and sometimes i open it and it doesnt, a window prompt comes up saying "Debug" or "Close"

You can get a 100% English version here but it's only version 2.0.0.2.

Just tried it out and I got that messege as well - but only the first time.

Update: Just checked that site again and i can't find the 2.0.0.2 version anymore cos they're going with the 99% official translation of 2.0.0.6 which in my opinion is a good enough translation. I'm sure the rest of it will be translated at some point.

the 2006 version is as much none german as u're likely to find.

cdfreaks just posted that the new *translated officially* version has been put out. its niiiiiiice ;)

im not exactly sure what if i am saying is what your looking for. when i back up my cd's i use cdrwin, which can make them into bin's with cue files. after this i use nero to burn to image and poof i have perfect copies. i've never had a problem with any type of protection using cdrwin

Even though the program is only 99% translated, I am still too much of a newb to understand the parts that ARE translated muchless the translated parts. I only know that I have NEVER had an error caused by Clony being opened. :D

Hi, I am new to this cd protection crap.

I used alcohol to rip Dungeon Siege. Both cds were successful, however when I play the game, it sporatically shuts down my computer. What is up with that?

Is there anyway I can get this working? What is the nocd patch all about?

Problems such as that are usually to do with hardware issues and not copy protection problems. Your components may be overheating or your graphics card's drivers may need updating etc. Does the game play fine when using the original disks rather than the backups

Hey, I just tried to play the game with the original and yeah it shut down on me after a few minutes. What's up with that? You were right. Damn you are good.

I am running an AMD 2100 with an ati rage 6 sdr 32mb. That should be good enough.

I couldn't find the exact drivers so I just download an ati radeon catalyst driver. What should I do now?

I'm guessing that the gfx card isn't capable of running the game - look at the game's readme file for supported cards and known bugs and issues.

maybe your power supply is too weak to hold the system stable under heavy usage.
