Sorry for late reply...
OK, here are the details for my problem.
I use a no-solder-mod v5 from lik sang and a AR2 V2. My PS2 is a 30004 R.
I had no problems to play backup games till i´ve inserted a cd-r wrong. It was not placed right and when tray closed cd-r was inserted not fully. It had to be take out manually. So I pulled out cd-r and since then the swap does not work. When I try to swap after AR 2 has boot eject light is blinking as usually when you swap and it makes also the same swap noise but the tray won´t open.

When you press eject button normal dvd try opens but when you hold it down for swap it doesn´t.

I think that my mod chip is ok.

Could it be that the problem is in my dvd tray, e.g. sth. is broken when i manually took out cd-r?

Thanks for your help:confused:

This is the exact same problem I have. No probs until my 18mth old worked out how to turn on and get disk out. Now eject light blinks and it makes the noise but nothing happens, tray does not open.

Tray opens and ps2 works fine otherswise, just can't swap.

Hope you all can help. Thanks in advance!!

exactly the same problem here...anyone have solved it yet?

If you have a pnp no solder mod (The one with the dvd chip on the board) then the mod burnt up. This is a common problem with this updated version of the no solder mod. The reset will change from green to orange but the tray wont eject yet it will eject with a single tap of the reset button like normal....I would return my mod for a exchange or get a messiah installed.

I will try to send it back to lik-sang then...dunno how long will it take...thank u for your info. I am just wondering why the chip doesnt work just because of the disc jam? Is there any thread describs the details about this problem?

no solder not a mod chip

the no solder is not really a mod chip, all it does is trick the ps2 disc tray to open when it is not supposed to,it sounds like the chip has come loose or is toast

Sounds like the 'MOD' is fried. I had the same problem. My theory is that by getting a CD caught half in/half out, you fry the portion of the chip that sends power to the tray to move in and out. It's important to know that the Mod sends this power its self and not in the way you normally eject (without mod). The LED's flashing are just for the users reference and were in fact not even necessary from a utilitarian point of view. I also fried my chip this way and got a replacement. I suggest you do the same.

max_darklight 20-05-2002 14:12

How do you guys get the replacement from lik-sang? Just email [email protected] or what? thank you for your reply.
