Win2K Version of UnSecurom ?
 

Is there some kind of tool I can use to patch an executable that uses the new SECUROM ?

Unsecurom only works with win98....and it always seems to crash when I try to use it on "die Gilde v1.02" that uses "New Securom".

I cannot use Daemon tools as I read that "New Securom" apparently checks the running processes for this tool and if it finds it, it will close-down itself.....

Can anyone help me there?

I'm using the original game cd....but for some reason it doesn't start.....I once tried the no-cd version of "die gilde v1.0"...it worked great....but if I don't use the no-cd version....I get an access violation and the game never even starts.

Look like the "New Securom" has a problem with my computer....so I somehow have to get rid of by using UnSecurom of some type.

there is a thread aomewhere here around that tells you exactly what to do.....

I tried Daemon Tools.....it almost worked.

I was able to start the game.....but then every time after a couple minutes, the game crashes......-> the mouse pointer stops moving.......so I have to use the task manager to close the application....

...did anyone experience anything similar? . ....is that the New Securom that somehow interferes with Daemon Tools....or is v1.02 of "Die Gilde" still that unstable?!?!?

it didn't almost work it just didn't work...

basically that's true :) .....but as I finally was able to start the game.....what wasn't possible before....I considered that a partial success! :)

Guess I'll have to wait for someone writing a "No-CD" patch for "Die Gilde" then....

I think you read that Daemon Tool checking article at jowood forum right ? But there are a few people who run game with Daemon Tools and describe how. Check it out. Cause a NoCd will probably never be released.

A few days ago....someone posted the patch for v1.01 of "Die Gilde"......who knows.....maybe the same person is working on 1.02 now....who knows.....

....I'll keep my hope! :) ...until then...I'll keep trying with Daemon Tools.....

How to run Gilde with daemon tools:

Make an image of the original CD with CloneCD and leave it
on your HD.
Mount that image on a virtual drive on Daemon tools.
DO NOT ACTIVATE SECUROM EMULATION ON DAEMON TOOLS !!
Install the game (you can also do it from the original CD
before you copied it)
Run the game

You can also make an image of your original CD with only
a CD-R drive. However, the drive must be able to read
subchannels.
