Ok....I give up...

Are there any other patches out there for this game than the Paradogs one.... I've tried burning this game w/ and w/o the patch and using speeds from 16x to 2x w/no success...

Every single other game I have burned works fine... And this one works in ePSXe ( when the patch is applied to the .bin file )


If anyone has ANY ideas, PLEASE let me know.

Also, I have tried the mod killer game genie codes, but I may have the wrong ones... If anyone knows the right ones, I'll count that as an acceptable workaround. Thanks!!

Looks like your standard GameShark format right? Well, it is...

Here's the odd part ( some of you probably know this... )
This code, when entered into a normal gameshark ( or freeshark in this case ) does NOT work. It doesn't bypass far enough into the cd to get pass the modchip protection...

However, when using the GSCD.ZIP ( PSX Tools from MegaGames or gamefreax.de "GameShark CD" ) it works perfectly...

Why this is, I have no idea... How is this going to come into play when the game needs to switch discs though :confused:

I'll cross that bridge when I come to it....

Why don't you patch the games using the PPF o matic? It works wonders for me..Without a single problem..Also try using different brand media's..Just because it works with some games doesn't mean it will work with every game right?
I don't know what CDR's you're using but I use TDK,Sony and Verbatim here and there..Also use Clone CD if you're making a copy of a copy and always make image first instead of doing CD to CD not that you were but if you're..For PPF o Matic you need to make the image first with CDR win burning program..That's the only program that works with and Prassi as well if you have PPF o matic 3 for Gi files..

Made the images from the originals using CDRWIN 3.8D and patched it with PPF-O-Matic. No dice. I think I've used both PNY and Imation to try and get it working, possibly TDK as well.

Just a thought! Are you by chance running other applications while Burning? It could be making roller coasters from that..
If so, let it burn don't run any other applications..

Nope, my system runs clean 24/7. They would boot up to the software termination screen and I *think* they would work on epsxe

Strange! Obviously you're getting Roller coasters but can't figure out why!! Are you making a backup from the originals or Copy of a copy?

Hm..Have you tried patching through DOS mode? I do seem to recall that when I got mine patched it was through DOS with a friend who happens to be expert on it..This was before I got
PPF o matic..This is gonna sound crazy but maybe some games don't work too well using PPF o matic..Right now I just made Vandal hearts 2 patched with that and it seems to give problem here and there on the Messiah PS2 I got..So I will retried it!

Yeah, I also used the DOS version. Tried damn near everything I can think of. Even tried contacting Paradox about the patch not working. Only way I've been able to get it to work is using the above gameshark codes, but I'd like to not have to do that.

Sh**!! There's gotta be a answer to your problem! This is gonna sound strange but perhaps your burner is not coperating meaning it doesn't burn certain games..I know this sounds Phony but that's the only thing I could think of..If you want I'll trade you something for it..Email me..It is 4 disc game so I'll trade you for 2 separate single disc PS games..I'm a Ebay Seller with over 200 positive Feedbacks..That's if you want! I do trade lot of PS games with people online.. :p :p :p

I just checked something! I'm very naive but I tried to run LOTD on the PS2 and it doesn't run at all..So I tried on my PS and it runs fine..So there you have it! So far I had problems with 3 games..Their are Tekken 3(Comes out Choppy),Vandal Hearts 2(Doesn't load sometimes) and last Legend of the Dragoon(Doesn't load at all)..This is on the Messiah PS2 NTSC..If someone has gotten the LOTD to boot on the Messiah NTSC PS2 please reply..Are you trying to the run the game on PS or PS2?
If it's ps2 what modchip are you running? Also when I thought it did you by chance change any of the settings on the CDRwin?
If you running on PS2 Neo2.5 or Neo4 it might work but if it's PS1 not sure what to tell you except try reloading the CDRwin..

This is on the original PSX ( not the PSOne ). I've only had this type of problem with this game and one other ( Strider 2 ). Every other game I have has imaged, patched (when needed) and burned fine. I even went as far as reading and writing the discs at 1x ( PAINFULLY SLOW ), but I only did that for the first disc ( no reason to try it on the others if it won't work on the first one, right?
