I believe it may be possible if it's compressed enough. Seehere.

As for being able to download DVD's of the net - of course you can if they are non-copyrighted materials - maybe ur own home made things. But you won't get links to copyrighted material such as movies here.

themis i don't understand what you mean, but if you are accusing me of wanting to pirate and/or infringe on copyrights you are wrong. I am tired of my dvd's costing $20 and skipping just a week later after a few plays. My intentions are to back-up my dvds just as i have always backed up my vhs tapes numerous times and my music cds as well.

Anyways, at first glance it seems very difficult to back-up my dvds to a cd-r that only holds 700mb. i am still curious if it is possible. Are there no simple programs that enable me to do this?

you have a few options

make vcd's

make avi's

there you go. run with it

it's simple impossible to burn a dvd into a cd.The only thing possible is to rip a dvd into a cd by divx technology. You must learn how to proceed because not only a program is needed (usually three or more depending of the method you use)

Good luck!

We totally understand your need to backup your dvd's - but this is what themis_t is talking about:
