Medal of Honor cd backup
After much searching on this forum, (I wanted to find out as much as possible myself before asking as I have noticed quite a few posts for this issue), I downloaded Betablocker and Daemon Tools. Installed both.
I then proceeded with CDRWIN and made an image file of MOH with the following settings: Extract Mode - Disc Image/Cuesheet Raw Mode - yes Error Recovery - Ignore Jitter Correction - Auto Subcode analysis - Auto Data and Audio speed both set to Max Read retry count - 0 Subcode Threshold - 300 After making the images on my hard drive I mounted one with Daemon tools with safedisk emulation checked. The installation program started and I was thinking I was on my way. But alas at 1% install I received this error: Component Transfer Error Component: Data Files Minimal File Group: Data Files Minimal File: H:\data2.cab Error: Data Error (cyclic redundancy check). Ok, so I thought maybe running Betablocker first might help. I ran the program, fixed the weak sectors and then tried again with Daemon Tools but still get the same error. What am I doing wrong? Sorry to be touching on this issue again but I have researched the hell out of it in the archives and thought I had done everything people were suggesting. Thanks for you help. |
Cyclic Redundancy Check (short: CRC) is a common method of finding out whether a compressed file is still the size it should be (WinZip uses it). So in your case i think something must have gone wrong in the process of reading the CD. Try Clone CD for reading the image and Clony XXL to determine the settings for CloneCD.
CloneCD is more commonly used so more people will be able to help you with it. Hey, a smart newbie here! Finally! |
slow your read speed to 1x or 2x

backing up moh
hi there
when you make an image of a safedisk 2 protected cd load the image into daemon tools. But DO NOT put a tick next to any emulation because the image should be an exact replica of the disc you made the image from, if the image loads you have created a good image, if it does not load the image is worthless. Also there is a new version of safedisk2 which MOH has that you can make the image but there are only a few cd burners that can actually burn the image so it will work :D :D |
it is v2.51.
|
slayerking2īs right. Thats how you should do it. I still think you should use CloneCD for the reasons that ClonyXXL auto detects the needed options and also it has the "Hide CD-R Media" function which lets you play the newer Safedisc protected games. Good burners for that are LG GCE-8320B or Lite-On LTR-24102B.

AWS helps heaps just copied mohaa for first time
what does AWS do |
yes there is only a few brands of burner that can correctly write safedisk v2.51 i know those two you mentioned can also the asus crw 1610a can as well
|
Forgot to mention that if clone cd can't do it there is fantom cd, blind suite and disk juggler these programs have not failed me yet.
|
or cdmate

Quote:
IT does that to the sd2 ones on the beginning of the disc... |
understand now thanx

i tried to back up MOH but the closest i could get to a good copy was the game would install of the back up cd but would not play off it i'm not sure if i can copy it properly yet if anyone knows if my burner can do it plz let me know. i have a TDK VELOCD 161040 (PLEXTOR GUTS BUT TDK NAME ON IT)LATEST FIRMWARE 5.32 If it can do it let me know thanks
|
Try to find out what Plextor writer exactly it is. then go to CloneCD compability list to find out whether your writer can do 1:1 copies. The perfect writer can write RAW-DAO 96 and has two dots "correct EFM-encoding". This is your Safedisc compatible burner. It can copy anything, except TAGES and Starforce (very rare protections).
>>added afterwards: Sometimes you need a OLDER Firmware to be able to have correct EFM. |
it is the PX-W1610 IT DOES NOT HAVE IT THERE SO I DONT THINK IT CAN THANKS FOR YOU R HELP
YE I KNOW ABOUT THAT THATS WHY IM STAYING AT THIS FIRMWARE AS IT GIVES MY WRITER RAW DAO SUPPORT OLDER FIRMWARES DONT HAVE THIS SUPPORT |
