Can anyone help me here???

Ok. Again. I know someone out there has this problem. Please help me. I have an Sbox for my PS2. Out of 12 PS2 backup games, only 2 work. The other 10 are not Ea games and will just sit there and spin. All my PS1 backup games work fine. Anyone know what is the problem? Please reply or PS2 is going through window LoL.
thanx

Alot of games need patching when using a usb mod, not just EA games.

Frodo150 29-03-2002 14:38

what kind of patches would i need to play these games? what would they be called?? and where? also is there a list out of games that need to be patched to be played? thanx a lot

schumy2001 29-03-2002 14:48

they be called swap trick patches and you will find them on www.psxcopyworld.com

NightStalker 29-03-2002 14:49

Go to www.ps2ownz.com. click on ea patches. They are usually called usb mod fix patches. also try www.gamefreax.de

Frodo150 29-03-2002 15:01

so how does one know if a game needs a patch or not? i dont know if its my modchip or if its the game. i have ico backup and it boots everytime! the other games dont.

Frodo150 29-03-2002 15:10

another question...if i get a patch such as "PAL/NTSC Selector & y-Fix," or "PAL to NTSC," that wont fix my problem right?

NightStalker 30-03-2002 18:11

Correct, you want the swap fix patch

HI...

for the second time, you have mentioned that you have ICO backup. As you say you use S-Box, I assume this is on CD.

sorry to change the subject slightly, but could you point me in the right direction for clue on how to rip this game??

Regards...kev1n
;)

Frodo150 31-03-2002 09:38

the game is easy rip. it is a cd therefore you can copy it with a regular cd burner. i used nero. good luck.

kev1n~ 31-03-2002 12:07

I really want to believe what you say.........BUT........

a.) it's recorded on a silver DVD. (at least it says its a DVD)
b.) the file: Data.DF in the DFDATAS directory is 846,860Kb (827Mb). & the total disk is 865Mb.

(UK PAL version (and only ps2 game called ICO ))

could I just confirm that this is the sces file?? SCES_507.60??

If it is - I will try a burn with nero (but can't imagine it working)

Best regards...Kev1n:)

Hi,

If its a silver disc then its a DVD ROM. If its a blue disc is a CDR disc. Im almost certain that the original ICO is on DVD and i think your last post has confirmed this.

Your have to burn this to a DVDr unless you rip out the bits you want and wack it to a CDR like i have. There must be a RIP tutorial on this game somewhere.

I have the DVD RIP of this game and it fits snug on a 80min CDR.

If your going to add patches to your backups i would suggest using CDRWIN to crate the BIN files and PPF-O-MATIC to apply the patches.

Check out www.psxcopyworld.co.uk on there you will find all the info u need.

Cheers

Dal :o

TO DAL:

DAL:
Thanks for the info, but HOW did you just rip bits out???

the file that contains ALL the game is like the one for GT3.VOL

DATA.DF - it is ONE continuous 827Mb file.

if you have done it, how did you extract the individual files from this one structure (& put it back again)

please help....

Best regards...kev1n~:(

kev1n~ 31-03-2002 13:39

PS - I've been EEEEEEEEEverywhere.......................

& can't get my grubby hands on any sort of rip kit for this game.

& it's a bit difficult to stick it into a search engine as three letters is too small to look for (ICO RIP {search}etc... returns errors on most servers)

if anyone knows - post me a life line (before I go crazy)

Best Regards....kev1n~:) :p :)

well the NTSC (U.S. version) is on a cd. I'm not sure overseas. To be honest, I dont see a reason for burning this particular game. The game is about 10 hours long and there is no replay value the second time around. It is a great game, but I dont think its worth the trouble of ripping. I say its a rental, not even worth the purchase.
NOW, I was wondering if any of you guys could help me out :)
I got an SBox modchip (supposedly same thing as Neokey). All my PSx backups work fine. However I can only get two PS2 backups to boot (one of which is ICO). I have read posts saying that if you own the SBox or Neokey you must patch your games. I have searched everyone and have found few patches for this "swap trick patch." Now, I'm not sure which games need patching and which don't. I have tried applying patches with little success. The games just refuse to work. They just sit there and spin in my cd-rom or, other times, spin for a few seconds and then stop. If every games needs a patch, then this modchip is shit. Plain and simple. Half the games I own don't even have patches on the net. Has anyone ever successfully patches games for the SBox/Neokey? I am desperate. My friend in Korea has some games on his FTP site (I take it they are PAL). I cant get those to work either. So would i need to apply the PAL to NTSC patch, then the swap trick patch on top of it? Please help, this is pissing me off!!!!
