Audio Tracks on Game CDs...
i fell in love with nocd patches until i realized i'd be missing out on audio tracks that are used in-game. is there any way to rip the audio tracks from a game cd in such a way that the game will in fact recognize and play them correctly in-game without the cd? any responses appreciated via e-mail or pm.

if u are using most no-cd's, you simply copy the music folders from the cd into the game directory. i know this is how it goes on the sims and many others.

podunkviller,
thanks for the response. i would have tried that, except these audio tracks are not sound files that i can simply copy to my hard drive. they don't show up in explorer. they're just what you would find on any music cd, and i don't know of any way to copy audio tracks directly to the hard drive without some kind of ripping scheme. know what i mean? |
The only possibility is to create an image with a burning software, like CloneCD, and to use a CD emulator, like Daemon-Tools.

kanalradde,
gracias for the tip, i will definitely check out daemon-tools some more. i've wondered how efficient cd/dvd-rom emulators and virtual drives are, but i never thought it could do things like play .cda audio tracks. i went over to daemon tools and took a look around, seems the software has the capability to do so! could be just what i need. that would allow me to access audio tracks within games, and still have no need for nocd cracks. also, this would certainly come in just as handy for non-game software. thanks again! |
