MY BURNER IS FRECKEN ANNOYING ME!!!!!

Does anyone know how to fix, or any suggestions on how to fix my cd burner from freezing or my computer to stop freezing while I burn a cd?
I’m quite sure its my computer which freezes not the burner!!

No programs are running while I burn a cd!!
It only freezes on certain music cd’s. The cd’s might have extremely small scratches on them. Basicly 1-5 cd’s.

My burner is Hp 8200 series and about a year and half old.
(The burner it self has burnt close to 200 cd’s)

I have wasted probably around 30 - 40 cd’s from certain error in programs such as:
Loss of streaming data. Which was resolved by down grading my version of Clone Cd!!
Another problem still happening is when I’m copying a music cd (only music cd’s) my computer freezes and control alt delete does nothing?

If this helps!!

My computer is:

700mhz
128mb Ram 133
46gig HDD
Acer motherboard
16mb 3d card TNT 2

Any thing to help me would be great, even if I have to upgrade my ram or other hardware!!

Hi dude,

Have you got easycd as well installed...or a udf read from nero..since i had this also...it was freezing at 0 % ..then i disabled the nero udf reader.
Also make sure your hd is not too slow, defrag
alot ...
Also disable the autodiskdetect of your Soundblaster if got one..
This program loads the music into his buffer and while clonecd is running it might crash.

I have Adaptec cd copier - Clone Cd

dont have a sound blaster
You really think defraging will help?
I'll try it!!

When I use Adaptec it does not freeze on every audio disc, about 1/3 discs!!

Anything I should know?
