Clone CD error!

I am trying to make CD back ups using clone cd, a philips 1208, and maxell cdr700s cd's. CloneCD shows an "incompatible medium" error after about 4% writing from an image file that I made using CloneCD following all of the instructions in the newbie hints section, "making a back of a protected game cd". I can write data cd using nero and sometimes CloneCD will write to a CDRW but when the CD is browsed it looks empty.
I am using win XP. I have searched these forums for an answer and cannot find one. PLease help!

Maybe your burning at a faster speed than the medium allows (look at the cd case for this).

Sorry I forgot to write that I did use clonyxl to make the cd images. The Maxell CD-R 700mb cd's say 1x to 16x, and I burned the cd's at 12x. Should I try a slower speed? I am really hestistant because my pile of coasters is getting pretty big. Also I get another message in nero that says buffer under run and then it quits. However I think it was my fault because I was doing other things on my computer at the time. Do you guys think that the cd's a crappy and not really suitable for burning at that speed? If so, what cd's should I try?
thanks

first of all try burning at lower speeds and then see if your burner has a buffer underrun protection system,if it has then make sure you check it when you go burning with any programm,if it hasn't then start searching for a new burner...

or a good cd you have made..then you can go and make another copy on a cd...
