Another ps2?

Hey guys...
A while ago I finally got a neo2.2, and was installing it fine until I realized my f'n main board didn't even have a Pin #7. This ps2 was a p.o.s. from around the time the warranty ran out newaze
>;-/ . So now I'm thinking of either getting a new v5 PS2 w/ a no-solder R-mod. But then I started thinkin... another $300.00+... Should I get an x-box instead? Which system do you guys prefer? I hear the xbox whoops the ps2s arse in the video department, and the programmers, I imagine, are getting better w/ programing for the box every game (cuz it's new... just an assumption). But I've never even played an x-box before, so I thought I'd get your guys' thoughts on this one?

Thanx fellaZ...

you can install the neo 2.2. just fine still, but the EA trick won't work without pin 7.. although i don't see why the pin wouldn't be there.

Trust me mah-man, it isn't there... I know all the versions of boards, and where all the points are, and this damned ps2 just...doesn't..have one. The majority of my games are EA, so it's just a p.o.s. now.. The color is bad... the mem/controll module is fried on the 2p side... I need new hardware.. I was just curious as to your guys' preferences with the PS2 and the X-BoX. I've heard that the x-box blasts the ps2 in a lot of ways. I don't know about 3rd party dvlprs and/or programming issues, but I assume w/ time they'll get better. I dunno... Just thought'd be good to hear yer guys' thoughts... even tho no1 seems to care...lmao
thx peepz......

I will probably get flamed for this but i am planing on buying a xbox. The games are pretty cool and the graphics are absolutely picture perfect, Anyone can say what they want but fact is it looks way better than the PS2 and is twice as powerful. As far as games go (just about) every game coming out for PS2 is coming on xbox also. The price of the games are the same so i may as well purchase the fastest, best looking one that being the Xbox. Backups will eventually be possible. There hasn't been a console made yet that hasn't been cracked

1) XBOX is big a clutterly and awkad controllers
2) 2x more powerful so what??? *cough cough* PSX and N64, I didnt see N64 come out top there
3) I must admit the PS2 is the hardest console to program for however the XBOX has no good games (except Halo)
4) And all this about exclusives, again, so what. As soon as they have been released on the XBOX they will be released on other consoles.

If you ask me M$ just want everything and sux ass majorly. They can't get enough of it can they.... not to mention they havn't pulled out an advert yet for it that actually shows gameplay of it... who wants to see flys and a flying baby???

Birchy, you are absolutely full of it. ANYONE who has actually played a xbox and is HONEST will tell you about the only thing PS2 has on the xbox is more games. Other than that the PS2 doesn't come close to the power of the Xbox.

xbox causes scratches to your disks it well reported(still they now just released in uk same problems r still there)
microsofts answer is they r very slight dont appear to affect playback they plan to do nothing nothing
so question is who is going to throw there money at bill when hes selling something thats scratches your origanals
most us here have chips to protect our origanals
sorry he not getting my money till i can make backups of my origanals keep the origanals in good nick
lets see bill say there no need to make backups:p

i`ve played dead or alive 3 on it and that game rocks. i`m a ps2 freak but if you can mod your xbox i`ll buy one. Some games on the ps2 are better but there are also games on the xbox that are better. And lets face it not all ps2 games use the console at max. GTA3 is gettin near that. But State of emergency is far from that.

This is the same problem the early PS2's had. The motor didn't completely lift the cd off the tray so when it would spin up it would scratch the disc. This problem is on the PAL, JAP console's only. I have had a xbox since launch and have never had a disc scratched. From what they are telling us here in the US is they are going to recall these units and replace them.

Well If Im full of it then XBOX must be crap because I have played it several times
