Final Fantasy X Import (NTSC) To the UK

OK Well basically I've just got a normal PAL PS2 and I've imported Final Fantasy X from the USA. When I insert the CD it says "Please insert a Playstation or Playstation 2 format disc"
Is that normal?

I know I shouldn't really be able to play it, but I was kinda expecting a different message like "Incorrect Region" or something.

I really really want to be able to play this game since it took a lot of effort to get it in the first place. Are there any hacks or ways to play the game without getting my PS2 Chipped?

If I do have to get it chipped, will the Origachip work?

I'd be VERY Grateful on any information about this! (E-mail me at: [email protected])

Thanks,
Anthony

you could get it to work but then you would have to copy it using s dvd writer to another DVD as import originals will not work only import backups work

If you bought your PS2 recently, it's a v5. This will work with the Origachip (www.origachip.com). It is a 15 wire mod (and a very fine mod at that) and will boot your NTSC FF X without swap. That's what we do with our Origa chipped system. Origa costs around £35 with shipping from Italy, plus abot £60 to install (we can do this for you if you want)

Better still for v5 PAL is the Messiah which is a complete no swap solution. We can both supply the Messiah and install it and the work is guaranteed for 90 days. If that is an option for you we'd need to conduct the enquiry/business side off this site and through e-mail via my profile.

Hope this answer helps. And to show that I am completely unbiased, the Origachip will serve you ver well and is highly recommended.
