What is the difference between ISO and joilet?

I copy info from my computer onto blank CD-Rs but I have never understood the difference between copying as ISO or Joilet.

Could somebody explain the advantages/disadvantages between these two?

i thought joliet was just a way of writing that conforms to the iso standard, so that you can read the cd in any drive. isnt it just a file structure? trying to help.....may be a lil off ;)

Thanks podunkviller. I think it's something like that, too.

I was beginning to think nobody had a clue although when I posted this question I thought it would be a cinch for these copy gurus.
