B & W Creature Isle.

Anyone know why I can't copy Black & White Creature Isle?

I managed to make a perfect back-up of Black and White using BetaBlocker and CloneCD but cannot get a perfect or even nearly perfect copy of Creature Isle. Both use the SafeDisk 2.51 protection as far as I'm aware but I'm getting nowhere.

I'm using a Mitsumi 4802 TE writer and the latest version of CloneCD on Win '98.

Any help or ideas would be great.

Brian.

I just used isobuster and extracted the whole game to a temp folder and included the no-cd crack from gamecopy and it worked perfectly!

Black and White - Creature Isle

I just managed to copy Creature Isle using:

- Blindread ( to get an image of the cd )
- Insektors ( to change the image file + play tricks on cd-check )
- Blindwrite ( to get that manipulated image back on cd )
- Ricoh MP7200A (to insert the CD-R ;) )

This copy works perfectly...but ...
i would like to get completely rid of this cd-check routine and i
spent hours and hours using W32DASM (Disassembler) and
searching for that error message:
(Please insert the correct cd-rom ....blah blah)

but i can't find it in the main executable (CreatureIsle.exe)

When i start searching for it with the "String Data references"
option (in W32DASM) i only get 5 results with non readable crap
 ...instead of finding the right line to change the jump-
command into 9090909090 ..this is really annoying !!

Does anyone have an idea what i'm doing wrong ??
...every suggestion is welcome !!

Hihi, Safedisc struck you.

TheBug 19-04-2002 13:27

yeah i already know that ...

emptyeighty 19-04-2002 13:41

No, i mean that you cant see anything in the "String Data References" because of the Anti-Debugging routines in Safedisc. Try disassembling a Safedisc protected .exe and the same .exe nonprotected. Youll see the difference.

TheBug 19-04-2002 13:49

oh no ......

oh no..... thats so awful ....

yeah i see the difference... fuck ...grrr..argh ....

so i have to get into multiple years of cracking
before getting this to work ???

.... poor me ...
:(

emptyeighty 19-04-2002 13:57

Yep. And while you go into your multiple years of cracking, could you code a generic SDv2.51 tool?;)

TheBug 19-04-2002 14:01

of course.....

yep no problem....
i'll write future version up to safedisk v5 then :D

or i even write the non-plus-ultra-all-old-current-and future no-cd patch ...working for all pc-games that are known by the human-race....

:D :D :D

emptyeighty 19-04-2002 14:02

Damnit. That doesnt include Die Gilde, does it?:( ;) :D

packer 19-04-2002 14:44

B&w does not use sd2 v2.51!

emptyeighty 19-04-2002 14:48

Oh, no more french? Good.
What does it use instead?

TheBug 19-04-2002 14:51

of course ...!!

..as i mentioned this patch will work for ANY game that will be or
was released in the past-present and future....

hey anybody out there who would like to join this great project ??

u do all the programmin' and i'll design the
interface-grafix :D :D :D

...muahahahaa

http://killer.flaboratorium.org <<-- i already prepared this little instant stress relief for all u coders who like to join !!
