Dvd-r Not Loading
I have been unsuccessful in loading DVD based backups. I have a version R PS2 with the solderless mod chip, burned using Pioneer DVR-AO3 and TDK media. PS2 CD based games boot no problem as well as PS1 backups. I am using a Gameshark version 2. Am I burning them wrong or booting them incorrectly. Please help a frustrated gamer!!!!

I tried to the load the backup but again I was unsuccessful. Once I inserted the original DVD game and pressed X the game loaded and No Error Message occured per your post. What method/software do you use to create your working backups?

nero or prassi primodvd
its most likely your laser need calibrating or replacing u got any pionerr or apple media ps2 laser like these if not get your laser calibrated i got ps2 read any brand dvdr m8 has 1 bad laser his reads apple or pioneer only i have 1 tdk dvdr my ps2 reads it his doesnt |
In a earlier post i gave you the correct method for booting dvd-r using a GS2 v2x along with the r-mod. If you are using it along with a hi toc original dvd game and are getting no read or write errors with primo dvd then i would agree with dust2dust, you may need to adjust the laser

I just bought the PS2 about a month ago and am unsure how to calibrate the laser. Could you supply some instructions or give me a site that has them. What exactly am I adjusting for?

You take your PS2's usefulness into your own hands here. At your risk and on your own head! |
