HOW CAN I DOWNGRADE FIRMWARE ON PLEXTOR 12/10/32A
 

Have a Plextor 12/10/32A would like to go back to firmware 1.04 from 1.07 but get error message Firmware update has failed when trying to go back. Any one know how to go back?

sorry m8 but yo are like me yo cannot downgrade below 1.05 code in firmware wont allow it, read my last post

did you try to downgrade using dos version 1.04 or windows self install version 1.04

i had no problems downgrading using the windows version 1.04

did you try the hint of mr king i find the plex nice thing but don't whant to by a new one that isnt downgradeble

I can downgrade to 1.05 but no lower,,,,ant ideas?

Come on guys. Why do you really want to downgrade your Firmware revision? I think because of SD2, right? Anyway, I have read that the problem with SD2 and the Plextors is NOT in Firmware, but in some chips made by SANYO, I think. So you should upgrade instead of downgrading your firmware. I guess there are things you gain with the latest Firmware you can't do with 1.04. By the way, you can succesfully backup a SD2 protected game with you PLEXTORS using unsafedisk 2_05_30. Any questions on using the program should be posted and not swallowed. Send me a mail for that.

patching a copy is a joke, downgrading the firmware would allow SD2 copying from what we have read.

I want a 1:1 copy so I have a Plextor 12/10/32a with a Acer 1208A burner and it rulez :)

Waitstate, I have read what you have read as well!. I've tried doing SD2 (Red Alert 2) with this Plextor and the game didn't play anywhere!. The staff about Plextor doing SD2 does not meet the reality! There are some chipsets made by SANYO which do not allow the Plextor to do SD2. It is NOT a Firmware problem, it's a HARDWARE problem! If you want to do SD2 with this drive, use unsafedisc 2_05_30. I can help you with it. Send me a mail!
