Sorry to bug you two, I have noticed over the last few weeks that you are the people to ask, so here I am. (anyone else is more than welcome to reply)

I've read a PS2 game using CDRWIN to my hard drive. Now I have two files on my puter with the following files extensions

.cue (which I think is obviously a cuesheet), would I be right in saying the cuesheet is similar to a TOC?

.bin (this is the image of the game) but appears that CDRWIN deals with .iso and so it won't copy the image to a CD even though it was CDRWIN that created the .bin extension.

Do you know if it's possible to convert .bin to .iso?

Or so you have any idea what went wrong?

Open cdr win , click on record disc (top left).
Click on load cue sheet, the one you have on your hard drive.
Click on open.
You should be able to mamage it from here.

ANSWER: Not entirely. It provides burning parameters for CDRWin describing the type of backup. For PS2 mode, it's just a single track. For Audio, it's like a TOC because each track is listed. PS2 games are read in RAW mode, which is 2352 bytes at a time (not 2048) - so it includes in one go the error correction area of the pressed CD which contains game or security data.

ANSWER: Don't understand this question. When you burn back to CD-R, you provide the .CUE as parameters which directs CDRWin to burn the .BIN. Then the .BIN contents are sprayed back into the component files but again in RAW mode with all ECC blocks written as part of a single sector of 2352 bytes.

ANSWER: Yes but it is inadvisable and has little practical purpose in PS2 terms.

ANSWER: You didn't describe anything that went wrong. A definitive tutorial and good Q&A on the subject is at www.psxcopyworld.co.uk. CDRWin is not good for copying protected games. CloneCD should be used with a compatible reader/burner.
