i have clone cd 3.3.4.1.
Unsafe Disk
A samsung SW 216
A Sony Dvd Rom(dont use it to make images)
Nero Burning Rom

I would like to make a backup copy that can be played without any emulation just like a real one. Im a newbie so can you do it in step by step format or fairly basic

There's one more vital tool that you're missing, ClonyXXL, this program lets you scan the CD for its protection and tells you the settings to use with clone CD, if that doesn't work then tell me the protection that it has & i'll try and help.:D

the trick is here that the setup exe and the exe is protected with sd2. and you writere can;t do it! (not Quite sure, check out the compatible list in Cd/dvd forum!)

You will need to make an image and then fix it with betablocker or copy contents to hd and then apply patch and then write to a cd.

And if AWS in Clone CD doesn't work with your writer, then use Unsafedisk on both the main exe and the setup exe.

1)Copy all dll's to a temp directory, along with the main exe as well (also the setup exe - repeat the following steps on the setup.exe)

2)Run safedisk 2 dumper on the exe. A data.bin file is created.

3)Run safedisk 2 Rebuilder on the data.bin file. This creates your new 'fixed exe'.

4)Rename the new file to exactly what the original one was.

5)To burn to a CD-R - copy the whole disk to a temp directory, replace the original exes with the new 'fixed exes'. Use Nero preferably to burn the contents of the temp directory WITH THE ORIGINAL CD LABEL. If the label on the original cd is "Ra2", then your copy must have this exactly as well.

i tried the beta blocker thing and done that then it burnt ok but when it comes up with the loading screen and just sits there for about a minute and then says this program has performed an illegal opperation.

the protection is safedisk V2 v2.05.030

If Betablocker didn't work then try AWS in Clone CD. If that doesn't work, use Unsafedisk (the method is above) on the two exe's
