Help with unsafedisc

How do you use un safe disc and I can't use the Harry Potter no-cd thing

OrEoZ 01-03-2002 17:40

SafeDisc version..

i think it's version 2.51 so there is no way to unsafedisc it with the unsafedisc wrapper..
check GameCopyWorld.com

No, Harry Potter has Safedisk 2.4, so Unsafedisk can be used.

1)Copy all dll's and main exe to temp directory
2)Run Safedisk Dumper on exe - creates a data.bin file
3)Run Rebuilder on the new data.bin file - creates the new fixed exe.
4)Rename the new file to what the original was
5)Replace the original file with the new fixed one.

Using 'Unsafedisc' on Harry Potter

Ive just used unsafedisc on the .exe and managed to create
a fixed one but i have a couple of questions....

1/ Last time i tried to copy this game i used a no-cd version of
the exe and placed it on the disc before burning. When i
tried to install the game it came up with a message stating
the exe didn't match the exe in the .cab file (or similar). Am
i gonna get the same problem here with the new one EXE?

2/ Is copying the entire files from the cd to hard drive then
replacing the exe all i need to do before burning back?

Please help!!!!

gh0sth@cker 23-03-2002 12:44

1) Yes the same thing will happen because it has a CRC check, it checks to see if the exe is the correct filesize. An error will pop up stating the problem but just click Ignore or whatever it may be and it will continue to install ok.

2) Copy CD to hard drive, replace exe's, then burn back to CD-R With the Same CD-Label. If the original disk is called "Harry_Potter", then the copied disk must be labelled the same - BTW use Nero for burning this back to a cd.

I did see something recently about a program that could replace files in .cab files. Could i use this method to nuke this problem?

Wish i knew what the damn program was called or where i saw this info?????????

I have a CRX-14E (sony) and found it to be a good drive.
The drive does burn DAO RAW but i never see this drive on the compatability list. Whats going on... is there a way to find out?

BTW thanx for a speedy reply :)

ABOUT FIFA 2002

I copied the contents of the fifa 2002 cd on to hard drive.

I used unsafe disc to patch the fifa2002.exe file and put it with the copied fifa2002 on my hard drive.

When i went to install the game straight from the hard drive to see if the game would work and i got the .cab error saying it isn;t the correct filesize. I ignored this to carry on with the installation.

It installed. Then i tried to run the game and i got "Please Insert Fifa 2002 CD"

Can anyone help??

Thanks
