MOHAA copy problems
 

could someone please fill me in on how to make myself a backup copy of MOHAA? It is the original retail version, and I would like to have a backup in case my original gets scratched. I am a n00b at this kinda stuff, so you'll have to excuse me if I sound a little uneducated.

Well first of all you should have searched the forum and you would have found out (a)maybe the answer to your question and (b)that stating what burner you have will triple your chances of success.

Please give your burner and we may be able to help.

my burner is a Lite-On LTR 12101B.

This game is protected with SD2.51. so i don; tthink that lite-on can do it. if you use clonecd then get betablocket the new version and then fix the image made by clonecd with betablocker. then burn image. or just use clonecd and then use a no=cd patch from gamecopyworlld or gamefix.

Will a LITEON 16102B make a 1:1 copy ?
If so, what settings in Clone ?

im about to start flaming noobs asking these mohaa questions, and i encourage everyone else to do the same. its been covered. if this were a channel on mirc, these idiots would be banned. quickly.

I HAVE tried it twice. I used Clony to discover that it was SD2 protection and adjusted the settings in clone (read 4x, Read retries 3 and error correction NONE) but I still get the NO CD message after installation.

I have searched as much as I can in the forum (time permitting) but I can't find anything regarding backing up the game with a LITE ON 16102B (which I have been told, by someone who reads the forums a lot,will copy SD2 without any problem at all, and has done until this game).

I only joined the forum yesterday and have read the guide on novices, but after following the instruction that I HAVE found, I STILL got four coasters.

So don't be TOO hard on me, eh?

If you searched around you'll also find out that the latest versions of sd2 have an ATIP check.
This checks to see if a cdr or pressed, silver original is in your drive. Only cd burners can return this info so either run from a cdrom, or enable "hide cdr media" in clonecd systray.

If that doesn't work then your cdr is either not 100% perfect, or you're doing something else wrong

One last question and I'll leave everyone alone. Another post suggested making a clone image and fixing it with betablocker. Do I make the image as per SD2 settings or just a straight copy without any setting change before fixing with BB ? I tried fixing the SD2 copied image with the latest BB but the result was the same.

you have to make the cd image with the sd23 settings and then patch it with betablocker..it's not sure that this will work but it's a good try.

packer posts in the sticky of safedisc 2.51 compatible burners that your burner is fully capable of copying mohaa. you should read and write slowly. the only thing you need to select is read raw. you may want fast error skip on, but if you hit an error, you proly want to abort neways.

if you still cannot get it to work like this, then you create an image using clonecd. it doesnt matter how the image comes, so long as you get one. betablocker version 3 will patch all the sectors that need patching, and the cd will burn back perfectly. this is how i've read it to be. dont be a stranger, report back ;)
